Please check that Media device ( MTP ) is enabled or not. If it's not enabled you can not connect your Moto x play phone with any device's via USB mode.
It's already enable by default in all device. It's does not works..
unlocking your screen after plugging in the USB cable?
When you connecting phone with pc via USB that time check your phone screen lock. It's should be unlocked.
